Torrejón de Ardoz, with more than 126,000 inhabitants, is one of the most important towns in the Community of Madrid. It also belongs to El Corredor del Henares and is located in a privileged enclave: 20 kilometers from Madrid, 10 kilometers from Barajas Airport and very close to Alcalá de Henares. Historically speaking, the creation of the village of Torrejón de Ardoz coincides with the construction of the Aldovea Castle in the 11th century. In 1118, the Crown of Castile conquered Alcalá again, also including the land on which Torrejón currently sits. In the 19th century, in this same place, the Battle of Torrejón de Ardoz took place. Its Air Base, in American possession until 1992, is now part of the Ministry of Defense.

How to get to Torrejón de Ardoz
Madrid-Barajas Airport is located less than 10 kilometers from Torrejón and in this same town is the Air Base, used for private-commercial flights.
In addition, the city is well connected thanks to a network of urban and interurban buses and three Renfe lines. Torrejón de Ardoz station has connections with the C-1, C-2 and C-7 commuter trains.
Here are the main road accesses:
- A-2.Madrid - Zaragoza - Barcelona: It crosses Torrejón de Ardoz from the north.
- M-45: Joins Carabanchel with Coslada and connects with the M-50 to reach Torrejón.
- M-50: Metropolitan ring road. It connects with the M-206 to enter from the south and with Avenida de Castilla from the east.
- M-108: Joins the municipalities of Torrejón de Ardoz and Daganzo de Arriba passing through Ajalvir.
- M-206: Connects with San Fernando de Henares and Loeches and passes through Parque Europa.

Tolls to take into account
There are no toll roads at the entrance or exit of Torrejón. However, on your trip you may come across two radials:
- R-2: It starts in Sanchinarro and ends at exit 62 of the A-2. It passes through the northern part of Torrejón, by the Air Base.
- R-3: Starts in O'Donnell and ends in Arganda del Rey. It connects with Torrejón via the M-50.
Parking in Torrejón de Ardoz

Be careful if you are going to visit Parque Europa. There is no blue zone, although parking for cars costs 3 euros, valid for 6 hours. If you want to park for free, you can try to park in Calle del Álamo.
